Microsoft Corporation has released the following security bulletin 
concerning a virtual machine vulnerability in Internet Explorer versions 
4.x and 5.x.  A Java applet could be constructed which runs outside the 
bounds of the virtual machine, such that if a user visits a website where 
the applet is hosted, unauthorised actions could be performed on the 
client's computer:
