Impact If the Solaris 10 command svccfg(1M) is run on systems with certain VxVM 4.1 and VxVM 5.0 patches installed (as listed below), the system may hang during a subsequent boot up. 2. Contributing Factors This issue can occur in the following releases: SPARC Platform * Solaris 10 systems (running VERITAS VxVM 4.1) with patch 117080-07 (MP2) * Solaris 10 systems (running VERITAS VxVM 4.1) with patch 124358-03 through 124358-05 (RPs for MP2) * Solaris 10 systems (running VERITAS VxVM 5.0) with patch 122058-09 (MP1) * Solaris 10 systems (running VERITAS VxVM 5.0) with patch 124361-01 through 124361-05 (RPs for MP1) x86 Platform * Solaris 10 systems (running VERITAS VxVM 4.1) with patch 120586-04 (MP1) * Solaris 10 systems (running VERITAS VxVM 5.0) with patch 128060-02 (RP1) Notes: 1. Solaris 8 and Solaris 9 running VxVM 4.1 and VxVM 5.0 are not affected by this issue. 2. The described issue only occurs on systems with EMC PowerPath software installed. 3. Symptoms The dependency for "powerstartup" is lost after running svccfg(1M) when one of the patches mentioned is installed on the system.
