   SA Document Body

   A Security Vulnerability in StarOffice/StarSuite 8 may allow file
   manipulation and Arbitrary Code execution

   1. Impact

   A security vulnerability in the custom memory allocation function of
   StarOffice/StarSuite 8 may lead to heap overflows and file
   manipulation. This could allow a remote unprivileged user who provides
   a StarOffice/StarSuite document that is opened by a local user to
   execute arbitrary commands with the privileges of that user.

   Sun acknowledges with thanks, an anonymous researcher working with the
   iDefense Vulnerability Contributor Program (VCP)
   (http://labs.idefense.com/vcp/).

   system, the following command can be run (for <program
   dir>/program/bootstraprc):

   % grep Product bootstraprc
   ProductKey=StarOffice 11
