   1. Impact
   A security vulnerability in the bzip2(1) command and libbz2(3) library
   shipped with Solaris may allow a local or remote unprivileged user who
   provides a specially crafted bzip2 archive to cause a program crash
   which is a type of Denial of Service (DoS).

   SPARC Platform
     * Solaris 8 without patch 138441-01
     * Solaris 9 without patch 114586-03
     * Solaris 10 without patch 126868-02
     * OpenSolaris based upon builds snv_01 through snv_88

   x86 Platform
     * Solaris 8 without patch 138442-01
     * Solaris 9 without patch 114587-03
     * Solaris 10 without patch 126869-03
     * OpenSolaris based upon builds snv_01 through snv_88

   3. Symptoms
   A program which is making of use the bzip2(1) command or libbz2(3)
   library could crash while decompressing bzip2 archives.
   
   4. Workaround
   There is no workaround for this issue. Please see the Resolution
   section below.
   Until patch updates can be applied, users should avoid using bzip2(1)
   archives from untrusted sources.
   
   5. Resolution
   This issue is addressed in the following releases:
   SPARC Platform
     * Solaris 8 with patch 138441-01 or later
     * Solaris 9 with patch 114586-03 or later
     * Solaris 10 with patch 126868-02 or later
     * OpenSolaris based upon build snv_89 or later

   x86 Platform
     * Solaris 8 with patch 138442-01 or later
     * Solaris 9 with patch 114587-03 or later
     * Solaris 10 with patch 126869-03 or later
     * OpenSolaris based upon build snv_89 or later
