Impact S0C4 ABENDs with dump "title=SMC COMM MONITOR" may occur from Sun StorageTek Storage Management Component (SMC) 6.2 roughly every minute until SMC is recycled. SMC is unable to issue a mount or dismount to the Sun StorageTek Host Software Component (HSC) for the swapped TO drive. 2. Contributing Factors This issue can occur in the following releases: * Sun StorageTek SMC 6.2 with PTF L1A00Q2 The S0C4 ABENDs will occur when: 1. A swap is initiated. 2. A reply of "Y" to message "SMC0110" is done. 3. The swap TO device has not been previously used by SMC. Note: This issue only occurs with SMC 6.2. 3. Symptoms If a mount or dismount request is received by SMC for the swap TO device, a S0C4 ABEND with dump "title=SMC ASCOMM WRK" will be taken and the mount/dismount will not be satisfied. 4. Workaround To work around this issue, SMP/E RESTORE SMC 6.2 PTF L1A00Q2 5. Resolution A final resolution (SMC 6.2 PTF L1A00QQ) is pending completion.
