SA Document Body
Multiple security vulnerabilities in Adobe Flash Player versions v9.0.159.0
and v10.0.22.87:

1. Impact

Multiple security vulnerabilities in Adobe Flash Player 9.0.159.0 and
earlier 9.x versions and 10.0.22.87 and earlier 10.x versions may
allow remote unprivileged users to execute arbitrary code with the
privileges of a local user on the system or to cause Adobe Flash
Player to crash which is a type of Denial of Service (DoS).

Also a clickjacking vulnerability in the Adobe Flash Player may allow
a remote user to trick a user into selecting a link or completing a
dialog.

In addition, a local sandbox vulnerability in the Adobe Flash Player
may allow a remote user to obtain sensitive information via vectors
involving saving a malicious SWF file to a hard drive.

These issues are also described in the following documents:

    APSA09-03 at: http://www.adobe.com/support/security/advisories/apsa09-03.html
    APSB09-10 at: http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb09-10.html
    CVE-2009-1862 at: http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2009-1862
    CVE-2009-1864 at: http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2009-1864
    CVE-2009-1865 at: http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2009-1865
    CVE-2009-1866 at: http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2009-1866
    CVE-2009-1867 at: http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2009-1867
    CVE-2009-1868 at: http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2009-1868
    CVE-2009-1869 at: http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2009-1869
    CVE-2009-1870 at: http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2009-1870

2. Contributing Factors
These issues can occur in the following releases:
SPARC Platform
  * Solaris 10 without patch 125332-07
  * OpenSolaris based upon builds snv_01 through snv_120

x86 Platform
  * Solaris 10 without patch 125333-07
  * OpenSolaris based upon builds snv_01 through snv_120

Note 1: Solaris 8 and Solaris 9 are not affected by these issues.

Note 2: These issues can occur in Adobe Flash Player 9.0.159.0 and
earlier 9.x versions and 10.0.22.87 and earlier 10.x versions.

Note 3: OpenSolaris distributions may include additional bug fixes
above and beyond the build from which it was derived. To determine
the base build of OpenSolaris, the following command can be used:

 $ uname -v
 snv_86

The Flash Player shipped with Solaris is a Web Browser plugin, meaning
that the Web Browser should be used to determine the version of the
Flash Player in use. For example, when using the Mozilla Browser,
visit the following URL:

 about:plugins

and search for the Flash Player in the list of plugins.

3. Symptoms
There are no predictable symptoms that would indicate the described
issues have been exploited.

4. Workaround
To avoid the described issues, the following workaround can be used:

For firefox 2.x and mozilla 1.7
Remove the Flash Player from the system.

For firefox 3.x
Disable Flash Player as follows:
 Tools -> add-ons -> Plugins -> ShockWave Flash -> disable

5. Resolution
These issues are addressed in the following releases:
SPARC Platform
  * Solaris 10 with patch 125332-07 or later
  * OpenSolaris based upon builds snv_121 or later

x86 Platform
  * Solaris 10 with patch 125333-07 or later
  * OpenSolaris based upon builds snv_121 or later
