Security Bulletin

Summary

Apache Tomcat that is bundled with AppScan Enterprise is vulnerable to remote
hijacking and denial of service vulnerabilities.

Vulnerability Details
CVE ID:
CVE-2014-0033

DESCRIPTION:
The Apache Tomcat version that is bundled with AppScan Enterprise could allow
a remote attacker to hijack a valid user's session, caused by an error even
when disableURLRewriting is enabled. By persuading a victim to visit a
specially-crafted link and log into the application, a remote attacker could
exploit this vulnerability to hijack another user's account and possibly
launch further attacks on the system.

The attack does not require local network access nor does it require
authentication, but some degree of specialized knowledge and techniques are
required. An exploit would not impact accessibility of the system or the
confidentiality of information, however the integrity of data could be
compromised.

CVSS:
CVSS Base Score: 4.3
CVSS Temporal Score: See http://xforce.iss.net/xforce/xfdb/91423 for the

CVE ID:
CVE-2013-4322

DESCRIPTION:
The Apache Tomcat version that is bundled with AppScan Enterprise is
vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by an incomplete fix related to the
processing of chunked transfer coding without properly handling a large total
amount of chunked data or whitespace characters in an HTTP header value. A
remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause a denial of service.

The attack does not require local network access, authentication, or
specialized knowledge and techniques. An exploit would not impact the
confidentiality of information or the integrity of data, however accessibility
of the system could be compromised.

CVSS:
CVSS Base Score: 5

and unzip the contents to a temporary location

2. Stop the IBM Security AppScan Enterprise Server - Tomcat service

3. Make a backup copy of your existing tomcat folder, which is installed in
the following location (default location):

   C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\AppScan Enterprise\JazzTeamServer\server\tomcat

4. Delete the current bin and lib folders under

   C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\AppScan Enterprise\JazzTeamServer\server\tomcat

5. Copy the bin and lib folder from your newly downloaded Tomcat 7 and put
them in

   C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\AppScan Enterprise\JazzTeamServer\server\tomcat

6. Start the IBM Security AppScan Enterprise Server - Tomcat service

7. In the appscanservertomcat-stderr.yyyy-mm-dd.log file found in

   C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\AppScan Enterprise\JazzTeamServer\server\tomcat\log

   look for the following entry
