Cisco Security Notice

Cisco WebEx Meetings Client Arbitrary File Download Vulnerability

http://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityNotice/CVE-2014-3310

CVE ID: CVE-2014-3310

Release Date: 2014 July 9 19:44 UTC (GMT)

Last Updated: 2014 July 10 15:29 UTC (GMT)

Related Documents:

Summary

A vulnerability in the File Transfer functionality of the Cisco WebEx Meetings
client could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to access arbitrary
files on another user's computer also running the Cisco WebEx Meetings client.

The vulnerability exists because the affected software does not properly verify
that the file offered by a sending client is the same as the file requested by
the receiving client. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by using a
modified Cisco WebEx Meetings client.

What Is a Cisco Security Notice?

The Cisco Product Security Incident Response Team (PSIRT) publishes Cisco
Security Notices to inform customers of low- to mid-level severity security
issues involving Cisco products.

Customers who wish to upgrade to a software version that includes fixes for
these issues should contact their normal support channels. Free software
updates will not be provided for issues that are disclosed through a Cisco
Security Notice.

For additional information about Cisco PSIRT publications, see the Cisco
Security Vulnerability Policy at

Customers Using Third-Party Support Organizations

Customers may have Cisco products that are provided or maintained through prior
or existing agreements with third-party support organizations, such as Cisco
Partners, authorized resellers, or service providers. For these products,
customers should consult their service providers or support organizations to

intended network before it is deployed.

Cisco WebEx Meetings Client Heap-Based Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

http://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityNotice/CVE-2014-3311

CVE ID: CVE-2014-3311

Release Date: 2014 July 9 19:54 UTC (GMT)

Last Updated: 2014 July 10 15:27 UTC (GMT)

Related Documents:

Summary

A vulnerability in the file sharing functionality of the Cisco WebEx Meetings
client could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to trigger a heap-based
buffer overflow in the Cisco WebEx Meetings client running on another user's
computer.

The vulnerability exists because the affected software does not properly check
the bounds of the data being transferred. An attacker could exploit this
vulnerability by using a modified Cisco WebEx Meetings client. An exploit could
allow the attacker to execute code on the remote computer or cause a denial of
service (DoS) condition by crashing the remote Cisco WebEx Meetings client.
