Vulnerability Details

CVEID: CVE-2014-0339
DESCRIPTION : Webmin is vulnerable to cross-site scripting, caused
by improper validation of user-supplied input by the view.cgi script. A
remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability using the id parameter in
a specially-crafted URL to execute script in a victim's Web browser within
the security context of the hosting Web site, once the URL is clicked. An
attacker could use this vulnerability to steal the victim's cookie-based
authentication credentials.

Remediation/Fixes

SmartCloud Provisioning 2.1 for IBM Provided Software Virtual Appliance is
shipped with Webmin. A security vulnerability has been discovered in Webmin
which affects SmartCloud Provisioning 2.1 for IBM Provided Software Virtual
Appliance with Webmin. Webmin has released patch updates which contain
vulnerability fix and SmartCloud Provisioning 2.1 for IBM Provided Software
Virtual Appliance with Webmin has been updated to include those fixes.

The recommended solution is download SmartCloud Provisioning
2.1.0.4 for IBM Provided Software Virtual Appliance interim fix 1
(2.1.0-TIV-ISCP-FP0004-SVA_IFIX01) from Fix Central and apply it as soon
as possible.
