Security Bulletin

Summary

IBM WebSphere Application Server and Progress Software DataDirect Connect ODBC
drivers are shipped as components of IBM InfoSphere Information Server.
Information about a security vulnerability affecting IBM WebSphere Application
Server has been published in a security bulletin. Information about this
vulnerability and Progress Software DataDirect Connect ODBC drivers is below.

Vulnerability Details

Please consult the security bulletin Security Bulletin: Vulnerability in RC4
stream cipher affects WebSphere Application Server for vulnerability details
and information about the WebSphere Application Server fixes.

Affected Products and Versions

Principal Product and Version(s) Affected Supporting Product and Version

InfoSphere Information Server version 11.3 IBM WebSphere Application Server
						V8.5.0.0 through 8.5.5.5 Full Profile

InfoSphere Information Server versions 9.1, IBM WebSphere Application Server V7.0.0.0
8.7 and 8.5 through 7.0.0.37

InfoSphere Information Server versions 8.1 IBM WebSphere Application Server V6.1.0.0
						through 6.1.0.47

You should verify that applying this fix does not cause any compatibility
issues. The fix disables RC4 stream cipher by default. If you change this
setting you will expose yourself to the attack described above. IBM recommends
that you review your entire environment to identify other areas where you have
enabled the RC4 stream cipher and take appropriate mitigation and remediation
actions.

Additionally, for all InfoSphere Information Server releases, disable RC4
stream cipher usage in the Progress Software DataDirect Connect ODBC drivers.
