Version Summary:
Cisco WebEx Node for Cisco Media Convergence Server contains a vulnerability
that could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to conduct open
redirect attacks. Updates are not available.

Description

A vulnerability in the Cisco WebEx Node for Cisco Media Convergence Server
(MCS) web interface could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to
redirect a user to a undesired web page.

The vulnerability is due to improper input validation of the parameters
in the HTTP request. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by
crafting an HTTP request that could cause the web application to redirect
the request to a specified malicious Uniform Resource Locator (URL).

Cisco has confirmed the vulnerability; however, software updates are
not available.

Warning Indicators
Cisco WebEx Node for Cisco MCS is vulnerable.

IntelliShield Analysis

To exploit the vulnerability, the attacker may provide a link that directs
a user to a malicious site and use misleading language or instructions to
persuade the user to follow the provided link.

Cisco indicates through the CVSS score that functional exploit code exists;
however, the code is not known to be publicly available.

Vendor Announcements

Cisco has released bug ID CSCuv32136 for registered users, which contains
additional details and an up-to-date list of affected product versions.

Impact

An unauthenticated, remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to
redirect a user's browser from the affected application to an arbitrary,
attacker-controlled site. A successful exploit could be used to conduct
further attacks.

Technical Information

The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input
processed by the affected software.

An unauthenticated, remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by
convincing a user to follow a crafted URL. If successful, the attacker
could redirect the targeted user to an attacker-specified website which
could aid the attacker in conducting further attacks.

Safeguards

Administrators are advised to contact the vendor regarding future updates
and releases.

Users are advised not to visit websites or follow links that have suspicious
characteristics or cannot be verified as safe.

Administrators are advised to allow only trusted users to have network
