Summary

The IBM Emptoris Strategic Supply Management Suite and IBM Emptoris Services
Procurement products are affected by a JMX component security vulnerability
that exists in IBM SDK Java Technology Edition and IBM WebSphere Application
Server. This issue was disclosed as part of the IBM Java SDK updates in April
2016.

Vulnerability Details

This bulletin covers the applicable Java SE CVE's published by Oracle as part
of their April 2016 Critical Patch Update which affects IBM SDK, Java
Technology Edition. There are other advisories included in the IBM Java SDK
and IBM WebSphere Application Server bulletins, but IBM Emptoris products are
not vulnerable to them.

Remediation/Fixes

Interim fixes have been issued for the IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
which will apply the needed fixes on WebSphere and also upgrade the IBM Java
Development Kit to a version which is not susceptible to these
vulnerabilities. Customers running any of the IBM Emptoris products listed
above should apply the interim fix to all IBM WebSphere Application Server
installations that are used to run IBM Emptoris applications.
