Security Advisory

Original Publication Date: 11/29/2016

Vulnerability Description

Under certain conditions for BIG-IP systems using FastL4 profiles, when the
Reassemble IP Fragments option is disabled (default), a specific sequence of
fragmented packets may restart the Traffic Management Microkernel (TMM).

Impact

An attacker may be able to disrupt traffic or cause the BIG-IP system to fail
over to another device in the device group.

Security Issue Status

F5 Product Development has assigned ID 509858 (BIG-IP) to this vulnerability.
