Description

The IBM Java Runtime Environment's Late Attach mechanism can be compromised by
an attacker with access to the same local environment as the target JVM. The
attack allows arbitrary code to be injected.

Various security enhancements ensure that the Late Attach mechanism cannot be
compromised in this way.

CVE-2018-1517

Description

A flaw in the IBM Java Runtime Environment's java.math.BigInteger and
java.math.BigDecimal APIs leads to a hang when a particular class of values is
parsed from String data. This can be exploited to inflict a DoS attack.

The implementation has been improved to handle these values in a performant
manner.
