Summary

  o A vulnerability in the web interface of Cisco Managed Services Accelerator
    (MSX) could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to redirect a user to
    a malicious web page.

    The vulnerability is due to improper input validation of the parameters of
    an HTTP request. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by
    intercepting a user's HTTP request and modifying it into a request that
    causes the web interface to redirect the user to a specific malicious URL.
    A successful exploit could allow the attacker to redirect a user to a
    malicious web page.

    This type of vulnerability is known as an o pen redirect attack and is used
    in phishing attacks that get users to unknowingly visit malicious sites.

    Cisco has released software updates that address this vulnerability. There
    are no workarounds that address this vulnerability.

  o There are no workarounds that address this vulnerability.

Fixed Software

  o When considering software upgrades , customers are advised to regularly
    consult the advisories for Cisco products, which are available from the
    Cisco Security Advisories and Alerts page , to determine exposure and a
    complete upgrade solution.

    In all cases, customers should ensure that the devices to be upgraded
    contain sufficient memory and confirm that current hardware and software
    configurations will continue to be supported properly by the new release.
    If the information is not clear, customers are advised to contact the Cisco
    Technical Assistance Center (TAC) or their contracted maintenance
    providers.

    At the time of publication, Cisco MSX releases 3.7.0 and later contained
    the fix for this vulnerability.
