K05013313:IPsec vulnerability CVE-2015-4047

Security Advisory

Original Publication Date: 28 Jan, 2016

Latest Publication Date: 28 Feb, 2020

Security Advisory Description

racoon/gssapi.c in IPsec-Tools 0.8.2 allows remote attackers to cause a denial
of service (NULL pointer dereference and IKE daemon crash) via a series of
crafted UDP requests. (CVE-2015-4047)

Impact

When this vulnerability is exploited, the remote attacker may be able use
crafted UDP requests to cause the racoon process to stop responding, resulting
in a denial-of-service (DoS) attack.

Security Advisory Status

F5 Product Development has assigned ID 565787 (BIG-IP), ID 566109 (BIG-IQ), and
ID 566111 (Enterprise Manager) to this vulnerability and has evaluated the
currently supported releases for potential vulnerability. Additionally, F5
iHealth may list Heuristic H05013313 on the Diagnostics > Identified > Low
page.

To determine if your release is known to be vulnerable, the components or
features that are affected by the vulnerability, and for information about
releases or hotfixes that address the vulnerability, refer to the following
table.

code, there is no supported method to configure the functionality in a way that
exposes the issue.

Security Advisory Recommended Actions

If you are running a version listed in the Versions known to be vulnerable
column, you can eliminate this vulnerability by upgrading to a version listed
in the Versions known to be not vulnerable column. If the table lists only an
older version than what you are currently running, or does not list a
non-vulnerable version, then no upgrade candidate currently exists.
