OVERVIEW

        A vulnerability has been identifed in Check Point Provider-1 versions
        NGX R65, R70, R71, R75.


IMPACT

        The vendor has provided the following details regarding this issue:
        
        "* A file overwrite vulnerability exists in Provider-1 that may be 
        exploited by unprivileged user on the MDS machine. By exploiting this 
        vulnerability attacker may control SofaWare Management Server 
        configuration." [1]
        
        "* This vulnerability may also be applicable to a SmartCenter only 
        during installation and if unprivileged users that are able to login 
        are defined in the system." [1]


MITIGATION

        The vendor has released a patch to correct this vulnerability. [1]
