OVERVIEW

        Intel has released an update for VTune Amplifier for Windows
        which addresses a high-severity security vulnerability. [1]


IMPACT

        Intel has provided the following information on the vulnerability:
        
        "CVEID: CVE-2019-14613
        
        Description: Improper access control in driver for Intel(R) VTune(TM) Amplifier
        for Windows* before update 8 may allow an authenticated user to potentially
        enable escalation of privilege via local access.
        
        CVSS Base Score: 8.2 High

MITIGATION

        Intel recommends updating to version 8 or later. [1]
