Microsoft Corporation has released the following security bulletin 
concerning an Active Scripting vulnerability in Microsoft Internet Explorer 
5.  A client system using a vulnerable browser may allow a maliciously 
crafted web site to read files on the client system.

As there is no patch presently available, Microsoft recommends disabling 
Active Scripting:
