Impact On arrays registered by the CAM graphical interface, it may be possible for the IP address of one of the controllers to be incorrectly recorded in the device file for the array. This may lead to communication issues with the controller via the CAM management software. 2. Contributing Factors This issue can occur in the following releases: * Sun StorageTek Common Array Manager (CAM) 6.0.1 on the following platforms: * Sun StorageTek 2530 array * Sun StorageTek 2540 array * Sun StorEdge 6130 array * Sun StorageTek 6140 array * Sun StorageTek 6540 array Note: This issue only occurs if the array is registered via the CAM graphical interface, using the "Register Storage System" wizard. 3. Symptoms If the described issue is experienced, the inability to communicate with one of the array controllers will occur. As a result, issues such as the inability to perform a service action on the controller, the CAM graphical interface losing all ability to manage the array, and incomplete output in the "stateCaptureData.dmp" file gathered by the supportData utility may be seen. 4. Workaround To work around the described issue, remove the existing array registration, and re-register the array by using the following command : $ ras_admin discover_subnet -I <IP_address_of_one_controller> The location of the "ras_admin" command depends on the host OS that CAM is installed on : (Solaris) /opt/SUNWsefms/bin/ras_admin (Linux) /opt/sun/cam/private/fms/bin/ras_admin (Windows) C:\Program Files\Sun\Common Array Manager\Component\fms\bin\ras_admin.bat When the array is re-registered via this command then the correct IP address for both controllers will be recorded in the device file for the array. 5.
