Various Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerabilities in IBM Sterling Connect:Direct for UNIX that can be triggered by sending specially-crafted data to Connect:Direct over the network. (CVE-2012-6352) Document information Sterling Connect:Direct for UNIX Software version: 3.8, 4.0, 4.1 Operating system(s): AIX, HP-UX, Linux, Solaris Reference #: 1623608 Modified date: 2013-01-29 Flash (Alert) Abstract Various Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerabilities in IBM Sterling Connect:Direct for UNIX that can be triggered by sending specially-crafted data to Connect:Direct over the network. Content VULNERABILITY DETAILS: CVE ID: CVE-2012-6352 DESCRIPTION: Connect:Direct is vulnerable to certain forms of specially-crafted data sent to it over the network. The specially-crafted data can cause a Connect:Direct Session Manager that is receiving the data to crash and can cause numerous error messages in the Connect:Direct logs. In both cases, resources are consumed that are then unavailable for legitimate Connect:Direct operations.
