How AUSCERT came about…
We are a not for profit that was founded 30 years ago when a university student hacked NASA in his spare time. This breach triggered a chain reaction to improve information security. In the early 1990s three Australian Universities came together and formed AUSCERT – the central source for information security and protection. Today, The University of Queensland (UQ) has embraced AUSCERT as part of its organisation. Our services include incident support, vulnerability management, threat intelligence, training & education along with governance, risk & compliance (GRC) offerings.
